Simply Be and Jacamo to create 30 new jobs in Exeter

Fashion retailers Simply Be and Jacamo, part of multi-channel retailer N Brown Group PLC, are coming to Exeter this spring.

Opening on the High Street in March,the dual-facia Simply Be and Jacamo 7,470 sq ft store will create 30 new jobs and will provide a selection of men’s and women’s fashion.

Applications are currently being accepted for the available job vacancies across a range of roles including supervisors, visual merchandising and sales assistants.

Stagecoach South West is urging Exeter residents to ‘shop local’ and support independent stores on ‘Small Business Saturday’, today.

The bus company donated 200 Exeter Dayrider tickets – dated for 6th December only - to ‘Exeter Trails’, a collection of independent businesses across the city. Customers have been snapping them up across the week ready to enjoy a day of free, unlimited travel on the big day.

As Christmas approaches, local charity Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau is helping people avoid a Christmas debt hangover by sharing their top ten tips for keeping festive finances in check.

Pinhoe Guides Christmas Shopping Extravaganza

Pinhoe Guides are holding a Christmas shopping evening on Friday 21 November.

Twenty tables will be selling various items including jewellery, craft items, Christmas decorations and cards for sale along with mulled wine, nibbles and mince pies.

Tesco Eat Happy Project attends Farm Wise event

Hundreds more schoolchildren will next week be given the opportunity to learn about where their food comes from by visiting The Tesco Eat Happy Project stand, adding to the 6,400 Devon-based children who have already enjoyed a Farm to Fork Trail in a local Tesco store.

The Tesco Eat Happy Project is delighted to be attending Farm Wise in Devon, an event being organised by Devon County Council to educate schoolchildren about the journey their food goes on and its nutritional content. The event takes place at the Westpoint Arena, Exeter on Tuesday 14 October 2014.

Princesshay’s Student Lock In a huge success

Over 5,000 students descended on Princesshay, Exeter between 6.30pm – 9pm on Wednesday 1st October for its annual Student Lock In event. Over 35 retailers and restaurants opened their doors after hours to offer discounts of up to 25% to students for ‘one night only’.

The event has been hailed the busiest and most successful Student Lock In to date for the city.
