River Cottage has announced dates for its annual Summer Festival, over the August Bank Holiday, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 August. The Festival provides a unique opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in all of the delights River Cottage has to offer and even camp onsite at the famous farm.

East Devon forms partnership with River Cottage

An exciting opportunity for East Devon District Council’s Countryside team and River Cottage to collaborate has been cemented following a series of meetings held at River Cottage’s HQ at Park Farm and the Seaton Wetlands.

Why not forage for wild food this spring?

If you look closely the small signs and signals of spring are all around. Like a faintly warmer breeze or the scent of the air in the morning. Quills of emerald wild garlic, crisp and perfumed, blanketing the floors of our woodland. Our Devon long banks begin to bite with nettles and dying ferns uncurl young growth all around us.

For me it’s a promising time to be cooking and I’m really looking forward to all the joys of spring. The asparagus, the early broad bean tops, St George's mushrooms, crisp radish, young carrots and sea kale.

Young Devon and River Cottage are teaming up to launch an exciting community project in Newton Abbot.

Under the advice and guidance of River Cottage’s consultancy arm, Young Devon will open a café serving delicious food – made and served by young trainees. Young Devon’s Change Academy in Newton Abbot is undergoing a month of refurbishment, ready for the official launch on 25th March 2015.

Traineeship places available at River Cottage

River Cottage have released 15 sought-after spaces for their Traineeship Scheme to start this January. Available to everyone aged 16-24 across both Devon and Dorset, the scheme will run from 26 January for three months.

This ‘work-experience’ scheme aims to bridge the gap between education and employment for young people.
