Exmouth RNLI called to two people stranded by the tide

At 6:17pm today Saturday 10 July 2021 Exmouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat D-805 George Bearman II were tasked by H.M. Coastguard to attend to two individuals and a dog who had become trapped by the tide between Orcombe Point and Sandy Bay, Exmouth.

The RNLI Inshore Lifeboat launched at 6.29pm, crewed by Helm, Roy Stott and volunteer crew James Searle and Ed Thomas and quickly made their way to the scene. They made contact with the casualties and took them on board the lifeboat.

The lifeboat returned to Exmouth where the casualties were safely put ashore at 6.45pm. None suffered...

Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew members launched their inshore lifeboat this morning following a 999 call reporting a kitesurfer in difficulty off the East Devon shoreline.

At 11.38am today Thursday 15 April 2021 Exmouth RNLI inshore lifeboat D-805 George Bearman II was launched having been tasked by H.M. Coastguard to a report of a kitesurfer struggling and apparently in difficulty. He was sighted between Sandy Bay and Budleigh Beach.

Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew members launched today to rescue two paddleboarders needing help in the sea off the Exmouth coastline.

At 2.22pm today Tuesday 30 March 2021 the Exmouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat D-805 George Bearman II was tasked by H.M. Coastguard to a report of two female paddleboarders who had become distressed some distance from the shore and found themselves unable to make progress.

Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew members launched their inshore lifeboat yesterday evening following a number of 999 calls reporting a windsurfer in difficulty on the River Exe.

At 6.14pm yesterday Saturday 27 March 2021 Exmouth RNLI inshore lifeboat D-805 George Bearman II was launched having been tasked by H.M. Coastguard to a report of a male windsurfer apparently in difficulty and unable to make progress. He was last reported on the River Exe between the River Exe Café and Lower Halsdon Farm, Exmouth.

Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew members launched their lifeboats early this morning following a report of six individuals aboard a yacht that had run aground off Exmouth seafront.

At 02.47am today Friday 19 March 2021 both Exmouth RNLI lifeboats, the all weather lifeboat 13-03 R & J Wellman and the inshore vessel D-805 George Bearman II were launched having been tasked by H.M. Coastguard to a report of a yacht with six persons on board that had run aground on Pole Sands, Exmouth.

Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew members launched today following a report of two paddleboarders needing help in the sea off the Exmouth coastline.

At 10.26am today Sunday 28 February 2021 the Exmouth RNLI Inshore Lifeboat D-805 George Bearman II was tasked by H.M. Coastguard to a report of two paddleboarders who had become distressed some distance from the shore and found themselves unable to return.

The lifeboat, crewed by Helm, Guy Munnings, and RNLI volunteer crew Mark Cockman and James Edge launched at 10:39am and was able to quickly locate the casualties.

The RSPCA will continue to rehome rescue animals on a delivery basis during the ongoing lockdowns in both England and Wales. Pets including dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets and other small furry animals will remain available for adoption as RSPCA centres - now closed to the public - switch to a virtual rehoming and delivery process. The animal welfare charity has 14 national animal centres across England and Wales - while many of its independent branches also have rehoming facilities switching to a remote process during the latest lockdown restrictions. Swimmer plucked from Exe as chance passing saves life

A chance passing of a buoy on the ‘wrong’ side saved the life of a stranded swimmer, Exeter City Council has revealed.

The fortunate swimmer – who was suffering the early stages of hypothermia - was plucked out of the Exe Estuary one mile from shore by the City Council’s Harbour Patrol team. The rescue happened last Wednesday.

Refuse workers honoured for rescuing deer

Two refuse and recycling workers who went to the aid of a deer that had become trapped behind a bottle bank have been recognised by a leading animal rights charity.

Jason Blackmore and Neil Baker, who work for Exeter City Council, have been awarded PETA’s prestigious Hero to Animal Award in honour.

The big-hearted duo didn’t hesitate to act after they were alerted to the animal’s misfortune while emptying household rubbish bins in the St Thomas part of the city.

Bin-men rescue deer from bottle bank

Refuse workers in Exeter had ‘no i-deer’ they would be involved in an animal rescue when they turned up for work today.

Two bin-men jumped at the chance of rescuing a young deer after it got stuck upside-down behind a bottle bank in Cowick Lane, Exeter.

The public-spirited workers from Exeter City Council were alerted to the animal’s plight by a member of the public getting rid of her empties.

The young deer was able to run off, seeming non-the-worse from the experience after being lifted out of the tight space by the council workers.
