307 Squadron Project invites you to Exeter’s Guildhall for the special event For Your Freedom & Ours.

It will take place on 15 November 2021, to remember the Polish 307 Squadron.

The 307 night-fighter squadron was part of the RAF, who defended the South West of England during WW2.

It prevented Exeter from being totally destroyed during the blitz on the city in 1942.This year also marks the 80th anniversary of the Polish squadron arriving in Exeter.

Everlasting honour for city's wartime defenders

Members of the Polish ‘307’ nightfighter squadron which defended Exeter during the Second World War will be honoured with a plaque in Exeter Cathedral this month, as the city marks the 75th anniversary of the Exeter Blitz. The events on 15th November are part of ‘307 Squadron Day’, recalling the same date in 1942 when the squadron presented the city of Exeter with the Polish flag as a sign of international cooperation. 307 Squadron Project invite you to a number of important events taking place in Exeter on Wednesday 15th November (307 Squadron Day) to honour the Polish 307 Squadron.

307 Squadron, part of the RAF, were night-fighters who fought the Luftwaffe over the skies of Britain and prevented Exeter from being totally destroyed during the blitz on the city in 1942.

This year is the 75th anniversary of when the squadron presented the city of Exeter with the Polish flag on 15th November 1942 in a sign of international cooperation.

307 Squadron Project invites you to Exeter for a special exhibition to remember the Polish 307 Squadron RAF that defended the South West of England during the Second World War.

The exhibition 'For Your Freedom and Ours. The Story of 307 Squadron', in both English and Polish, is being held at Exeter's Guildhall between 14-16 November 2016.

At 10am on Tuesday 15 November the Lord Mayor of Exeter will raise the Polish flag over the Guildhall to remember 307 Squadron which prevented the city from being totally destroyed during the blitz of 1942. This ceremony will help promote British-Polish relations.

Hate crime has no place in Exeter

Hate crime has no place in Exeter, Exeter City Council said today, following reports of migrant communities being abused in the city.

Hate crime has risen by 57% across the country since the result of the EU Referendum, according to the National Police Chiefs’ Council.

Cllr Paul Bull, Lead Councillor for Communities and Neighbourhoods, said there had already been reports that migrant communities were being verbal abused and physically attacked in Exeter since last Thursday.

New CCTV photo of missing Polish woman, Magdalena Krawiec

Police have released a new CCTV image showing the last known sighting of Magdalena Krawiec, the missing 20-year-old Polish woman.

The picture shows a woman walking along Marine Drive near the Redcliffe Hotel in Paignton in the direction of Torquay on Monday 13 May at 8.17pm (it was previously reported that the last sighting had been on Tuesday 14 May). The woman in the photo has been confirmed as being Magdalena.

Police are appealing for any information or sightings of Magdalena after 8.17pm on Monday 13 May.
