Police are appealing for witnesses after three vehicles were involved in a road traffic collision on Saturday 16 March near Newton Poppleford. The collision happened at around 3.30pm on the A3052, one mile west of Newton Poppleford, near Sidmouth. Fire and ambulance crews attended the collision which involved a Suzuki Wagon, an Audi A3 and an Audi A4. The female driver of the Suzuki, from Exeter, was airlifted to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with serious back and leg injuries. Devon and Cornwall Police has become aware that a company has been cold calling local people and carrying out a survey, claiming to be working in collaboration with the police, where personal details are being requested from those being called. We are informed that this company sell home security alarm systems. Superintendent Chris Eastwood; police commander for the areas of Exeter, East and Mid Devon has awarded a number of police officers for their selfless acts of bravery and diligent examples of professionalism in frontline policing.

Police are asking the public for information after two boys were seen shooting an air rifle at birds. The incident happened at around 4.30pm on Thursday 28 February 2013 in the car park near to bridge at Bromhams car park in Exeter. Officers are keen to speak to people who may have witnessed the incident or saw the boys with the weapon. Update: Formal identification has now been carried out and the deceased has been named as Keith Dance aged 33 years who lived on Molesworth Road in the Stoke area of Plymouth.
Jacqueline Cooke aged 29 of Victoria Place and Ian Gollop aged 50 of Molesworth Road – both Stoke addresses - have been charged with the murder of Keith Dance. They are both due to appear at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning, Thursday 14 March.

Fire crews were called to reports of a property fire in Mount Pleasant, Exeter just after 11pm last night, where there were still people within the building.
One fire appliance from Danes Castle and one from Middlemoor attended the incident.
On arrival, crews found there to be a fire on the ground floor. One baby was rescued from the property by police officers before fire service arrived. All other persons were accounted for.
Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus wearers and one hose reel jet.
Four teenagers have been found safe and well after they became separated from the adults they were with while training for Ten Tors. The alarm was raised at 7.45pm on Saturday 9 March 2013 when the missing youngsters rang the police, but were unable to give their exact location. Although dressed appropriately, they had no shelter with them. The weather prevented the force helicopter from lifting, and the Dartmoor Rescue Group was called in to take part in the search. Shortly after 7am on Sunday 10 March 2013, police attended an address in Randolph Close, Plymouth. A 21-year-old female named Jenny Launder was found dead at the address.
A forensic post mortem has been completed due to the nature of the scene. The initial findings of the post mortem would indicate that the death is no longer deemed as suspicious albeit the investigation is continuing jointly with HM Coroner.
Seven people from West Cornwall have been charged with drugs offences following a two-year Police investigation.
The six men and a woman have all been charged with conspiracy to import drugs into the UK and also with supplying Class B drugs.
All seven will appear before Truro Magistrates Court on Thursday 28 March 2013.
