Police are appealing for the public’s help in identifying a suspect (pictured) after an attempted robbery in St Thomas, Exeter. The incident happened on Monday 5 August at around 9.10am outside the Post Office in Okehampton Road. The victim, a 27-year-old woman from Whipton, approached the Post Office to pay in the takings from a local store when she was approached by a white man from behind who was riding a push bike. Police were called to the A38 at Kennford, Exeter just before 6.30am today (Thursday 22 August) after two vans were involved in a collision. The incident happened in the outside lane at the bottom of Telegraph Hill, just before Splatford Split on the southbound carriageway heading towards Newton Abbot. The outside lane was blocked and Highways are dealing with this. The ambulance service were called to treat minor injuries. The vans involved were a white Renault Trafic van registered to Slough and white Mercedes Sprinter van registered to Bristol.
Police investigating three cases of animals being killed and mutilated in Teign Valley near Exeter are appealing for information. The first incident happened in the Bridford area of Teign Valley between 8.30pm on Friday 12 July and 12.30pm on Saturday 13 July, where a number of animals were killed or harmed. Four ducks were killed, a chicken went missing and a horse’s shoe was removed inhumanly. A goat’s horn was also damaged leaving the goat in pain and it needed to be seen by a vet. A 17-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after the car he was travelling rolled on the M5 southbound near Cullompton.
The collision happened just before 11am today (Monday 19 August) about one mile past Junction 28.
Police, fire and ambulance services were called to the scene.

Richard Henderson, born 23 August 1970, went missing on 8 August 2013 from his home address in Sandford Walk, Exeter. His neighbours believed he was due to go camping on 7 August 2013 and he may be in possession of a tent and camping equipment.
Mr Henderson is described as a white male, about 5ft 11in tall, of slim build with short cropped fair hair, he has links to Exmouth, Exeter and the Dawlish areas.
Any campsites across Devon and Cornwall may have been occupied and Police would urge their employees to take note of Mr Henderson’s image.
Police in Exeter are appealing for information to identify three rings, which they believe have been stolen. The rings were seized two weeks ago and are suspected to have been stolen from a burglary, probably within the last three months. It might well be that the loser is unaware that their jewellery has been stolen. The rings are fairly distinctive and appear to be quite old – probably belonging to the same person. All have a gold band and are set with diamond stones of some description.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who recognises these rings and ask that they contact them...

The incident, which occurred at around 4.11pm on Wednesday 14 August on the old A30 at Sprytown Cross near Lifton, involved a Citroen Saxo motor vehicle and a Giant Revel bicycle. Police investigating the theft of two mid-15th century medieval panels from a Devon church are appealing for information nationally. Police believe the panels (pictured) were taken from The Holy Trinity Church in Torbryan, Newton Abbot sometime between Friday 2 August and Friday 9 August. A third panel was also damaged. According to the Churches Conservation Trust the Torbryan screen is one of the most important examples of its kind in the country and is of national interest. Police in Torquay are appealing for witnesses and information after an incident at the junction of Walnut Road and Oldmill Road in the town.
Some time between 3pm and 3.10pm on Wednesday, 7 August 2013, the drivers of a red Jaguar and blue Mercedes CLK are believed to have been involved in an altercation at the junction, which police believe would have been seen by other motorists in the area.
