Point-to-point champion crowned at Exeter’s finale

The curtain comes down on Exeter’s season next Tuesday when the winner of the prestigious intermediate point-to-point final will be crowned.

Eight qualifying races took place across the Devon and Cornwall point-to-point area and all 45 horses horses that came under starters’ orders are qualified to participate in Tuesday’s grand finale

The series started at Black Forest Lodge in November. That day the imposing grey Argentato made all under 17-year-old Jordan Nailor who comes from Moreton In the Marsh and works for jumps trainer Charlie Longsford.

Entrance is £10 a head, maximum £30 per car and children free.

The eagerly awaited Silverton Hunt Point to Point takes place on Sunday January 18th at Black Forest Lodge, Kenton near Exeter off the A380 starting at 12 noon with the first race.

An exhilarating, crowd-pleasing showcase for amateur horse racing nationally, Silverton Hunt Point to Point, has attracted well over a record 100 entries with some of the best competitors in their field.

Rain doesn't dampen Charles Stanley spirits at Silverton Point to Point

The weather didn’t dampen spirits at the Silverton Hunt Point to Point meeting at Blackforest Lodge on Sunday 12th January. Racegoers were treated to a dry start and some great racing ahead of the Charles Stanley Ladies Open race which was won by the favourite, Byerley Bear, ridden by Leanda Tickle. She brought him home to his third Ladies Open win in four weeks ahead of last year’s winners Mobaasher ridden by Lucy Gardner - a great result for owner Roger Knowles and Trainer Robert Chanin. King of Alcatraz ridden by Vicky Wade came in third.
