Exeter Green Party is urging councillors to reject outline planning permission for the redevelopment of the bus station site, saying the plans are a bad deal for Exeter.

Councillors are due to decide whether to grant outline planning permission at an extraordinary council meeting on Wednesday (20 January).

Greens are demanding that any deal must include a developer contribution towards a new bus and coach station. It was recently revealed that the current developer, The Crown Estate, has pulled out of funding a new public transport hub for the city. Greens also say that the...

Judge rejects Home Farm challenge

Exeter City Council has said it is disappointed with a High Court decision to allow a housing development to go ahead at Home Farm in Pinhoe.

Following a hearing on 8 June, a High Court judge dismissed the City Council's application to overturn a planning inspector's decision to allow an outline planning application for 120 homes at Home Farm on Church Hill, Pinhoe.

The City Council refused the application in January 2014 but following an appeal from the developer the case went to a public inquiry in September the same year, which ruled that the development could go ahead...

East Devon District Council is organising a neighbourhood planning referendum in Lympstone to invite residents to approve a draft planning blueprint for the village.
