Devon the #PlaceToBe for walking and cycling

A short video promoting Devon’s stunning network of walking and cycling trails to people around the world has been released.

The video kick-starts a campaign to encourage ramblers, cyclists, tourists and locals to take advantage of the county’s wonderful variety of walking and cycling trails.

It also encourages people to highlight Devon for walking and cycling this year on the #PlaceToBe Twitter feed.

The short video has been created, in collaboration with Visit Devon, and shares the fantastic walking and cycling routes Devon has to offer.

July and August bring many families and holidaymakers to D awlish Warren .

These visitors have chosen our county as a prime destination which will allow them to relax within the UK and enjoy something special at the same time.

Devon has become an enjoyable place to discover and explore. Since the unfortunate disaster and storm which battered Dawlish (full article here ) there has been an increase of activity.

Families have made Devon their place to go to, simply because it is not just about fields and green spaces.

The Outdoor Team has created an action packed programme of weekly events for August that will inspire and entertain all members of your family. Some of these events are a first for Killerton, and the National Trust Rangers are very excited at this new opportunity to show off the wild side of the estate.

Seaton Wetlands are at their spectacular best at dusk and during the early hours of the morning, so don’t miss the chance to sleep under the stars and rise and shine with East Devon District Council’s Countryside team on Friday 7 August, starting at 5pm, for a unique camping experience.
