The Devon Guild craft centre in Bovey Tracey is offering free drop-in craft activities every Wednesday morning (24 July - 28 August) during the summer holidays. All sessions are 10am – 12.30 pm and there is no need to book; just pop in and join in the making fun! See below for details of our weekly making mornings:

Half-term craft making days: Fearsome Feasts

This half term, join us at the Devon Guild Craft centre on 25th and 26th October for free family fun!. Become a crafty cook at our free making days with activities for all ages, based on the current exhibition, 'Plate Up'. Have fun modelling faux food for a spooky banquet… it may look good enough to eat - but don’t dare try it! Materials provided, donations welcomed. Under 12’s supervised please. Part of the Family Arts and Family Learning Festival.

A new exhibition showing how creative designers can help make the dreams and visions of others, into reality. We take a look behind the workshop doors to see how the commissioning process works. Devon Guild Members reveal their craft making journeys with clients, ranging from personal tokens to large scale public work - low to high budget. Contemporary objects, drawings, sketchbooks and digital works show how they've interpreted a particular brief, problem-solving to mutual success. Summer rain leads to bumper apple crop for cider making

Orchards on the Killerton estate are bursting with apples this autumn and the National Trust rangers and volunteers have been busy harvesting them in time for their annual cider and apple festival on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October.

The frost in May caused concern that the orchards might be bare this autumn but the summer rain has meant the orchards are full of apples, including some varieties like the Killerton Sweet, Killerton Sharp and Star of Devon which are unique to this small area.
