Appeal for witnesses to Kenton crash

A man has been seriously injured following a collision in Kenton on Friday 5 January 2018.

The incident happened at approximately 6.20pm on unclassified road near Black Forest Lodge in Kenton and involved an Isuzu pick-up vehicle.

The vehicle collided with trees resulting in the driver, a man in his 30s, becoming trapped in the vehicle.

Ambulance, Police and Specialist Fire and Rescue crews attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and ask anyone with information to...

Exeter primary school and law firm bring Christmas cheer to Moldova

An Exeter primary school and a solicitors’ office have joined forces to bring some Christmas cheer to people in the poorest country in Europe.

Children at Kenton Primary School and staff at Gilbert Stephens solicitors have put together dozens of festively decorated boxes of presents for those living in poverty in Moldova, formerly part of Romania.

The shoeboxes all contain basic items such as soap, toothbrushes and facecloths, warm hats and gloves, along with notebooks, pens, coloured pencils, and sweets. Boxes for children contain small toys and games.

Organic hair salon, Ragamuffins Hair is celebrating 20 years of providing naturally healthier hair services to the people of Devon, and what better way to celebrate than by giving back to their community.

Powderham’s fallow deer welcome new additions to the herd

In May, Powderham’s deer park welcomed 50,000 music revellers to enjoy Radio 1’s Big Weekend, a momentous occasion for the region.

Whilst things were starting to calm down a little in the deer park, it wasn’t for long with the deer recently welcoming new additions to the herd, following the birth of fawns over the past couple of weeks.

Teignmouth Art Society's summer sketching day a success

On Thursday 17th June, Powderham Castle welcomed members of Teignmouth Art Society for the beginning of their summer sketching season.

This year, the event drew a record number of artists on the day, with 25 members attending. This included a mix of novice and experienced artists, with many taking inspiration from Powderham’s deer park.

The magical setting of Powderham Castle is a firm favourite with Teignmouth Art Society, who have visited Powderham at the start of their season for a number of years.
