Ragamuffins Hair located in Kenton, Exeter, recently celebrated their 20th Anniversary by giving back to their community and hosting a charity event to raise money for local Exeter cancer support charity, Force (Friends of the Oncology and Radiotherapy Centre, Exeter).

To celebrate 20 years of business, salon owner Nikki Farrant and the Ragamuffins team held a fundraising event to raise awareness and money for Force Cancer Charity, a local charity who work to raise money to aid research, purchase state of the art equipment to improve cancer treatment and provide support to cancer patients in the Exeter region. Many of Ragamuffins’ clients have received support from Force over the years and the salon felt its 20th birthday was a great reason for them to get fundraising.

The event took place in Kenton Village Hall on the evening of 12th November 2016 and was attended over 150 members of the local community, as well as volunteers and representatives of Force Cancer Charity and Organic Colour Systems (the natural and organic brand of products used exclusively in the salon since its beginning). Combined with a raffle, auction, tickets sales, donations and other fundraising activities leading up to the event, a whopping total of £5000 was raised for the charity.

Nikki Farrant, Ragamuffins salon owner was overwhelmed by the support from her loyal clients for the local community and said “I couldn’t have asked for a better evening. The community came together to support this amazing charity that has helped so many and in doing so have enabled us to raise an incredible amount of money. We all had a fabulous time and we would like to thank all those involved for making the evening very special”.

Ragamuffins Hair would like to give special thanks to the following people for their generous donations and involvement in making the evening a success: Rodean Restaurant ▪ Motion Pitchers ▪ Matt Finnish ▪ Toby Buckland Garden Centre ▪ Berrybrook South West ▪ Chi Oriental Restaurant ▪ Dolphin Inn ▪ Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club ▪ Fraser & Wheeler Estate Agents ▪ Linda Dorian ▪ Mike and Claire Newcombe ▪ Mount Pleasant Inn ▪ Organic Colour Systems ▪ Powderham Castle ▪ SJC Autos ▪ Sue & Geoff Nichols ▪ Swiftprint ▪ The Point at Polzeath ▪ Stewart Privett
