Crealy welcomes tortoises and reptiles this Half Term

Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park welcomes 21 new animals in two new areas set to open at the start of May half term. From Saturday 28th May guests to Crealy will be able to see, learn about and handle some of the new animal inhabitants of Tortoise Town and Snake Pit.

In recent weeks, Crealy has taken in three Corn Snakes, one Royal Python, one Milk Snake, one Boa Constrictor, six Bearded Dragons, four Crested Geckos, one Berber Skink, two Carpet Pythons and two Sulcata Tortoises. Charity launches Devon holiday park

The Fire Fighters Charity - the UK's leading provider of life enhancing services for injured firefighters across the UK - has launched an innovative new holiday park in Devon in a bid to boost its fundraising income.

There’s a special chance to learn about traditional lobster pot-making at Living Coasts on Friday April 1st.

Dave French is the fifth generation of his family to make crab and lobster pots from willow. He is one of only 10 people in the world who can make pots in this way. Clare Rugg, Operations Manager at Living Coasts, said: “It is wonderful to watch him at work – and it’s an important tradition.

Park opens swimming complex year round

A Devon holiday park is set to open its doors all year round, launching a new pool membership as a thank you to local residents.

For the first time in its 73-year history, Ladram Bay Holiday Park, on the Jurassic Coast between Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton, will open its swimming pool complex from November to March.

The redeveloped complex, including a main pool, children’s zone, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, gym and poolside café, will open at the family run park, which first saw campers pitch up in 1943.

Children had lots of fun at an Exeter church summer holiday club, with games, drama, crafts, stories and a sports day.

Staff and volunteers from Isca Church welcomed 67 children to the club, which had the theme Polar Explorers, and took place at Willowbrook School.

They held their sports day at the Exeter Arena and later enjoyed a high-spirited prize giving and bbq at the new The Beacon, youth and community centre in Beacon Heath.
