Park opens swimming complex year round

A Devon holiday park is set to open its doors all year round, launching a new pool membership as a thank you to local residents.

For the first time in its 73-year history, Ladram Bay Holiday Park, on the Jurassic Coast between Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton, will open its swimming pool complex from November to March.

The redeveloped complex, including a main pool, children’s zone, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, gym and poolside café, will open at the family run park, which first saw campers pitch up in 1943.

Ladram Bay enjoyed its most successful summer this year, with 99% occupancy through the holiday period, and receiving the top Five Star tourism award from VisitEngland.

All inclusive adult membership includes full use of the pools, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi, for £40. Child membership is £20 and a special discounted family membership rate is also available.

Director Zoe House said: “Launching the membership scheme gives people a new first class leisure facility to enjoy in East Devon. We’ve spent close to £3m on the swimming pool complex, with a new poolside café and sun terrace so it’s fantastic to be able to open our doors for people in Devon all year round. Ladram Bay is a stunning location, offering a great day out in the colder months.”

‘Pay as you swim’ membership is also available (£20 for adults and £2 per session, £10 for children and £1 per session, and family membership) for the four months.

Membership can be topped up to include full use of the gym for the four months for £20, or used on a per session basis, for £1.50.

The park, which has its own private beach, offers a range of accommodation options, with apartments, luxury lodges and holiday homes for hire and sale, along with camping and touring.

VisitEngland has this year described Ladram Bay as excellent, assessing the holiday park for the quality of facilities, physical and personal comfort, service and hospitality, management, attention to detail, guest experience and services and general cleanliness.

The winter pool membership opening dates are 1 November 2015 until the 1 March 2016. Christmas closure dates are 20 December 2015 – 4 January 2016.
