Re-viewing Exeter in moving pictures

As part of an innovative digital art and performance project, a series of new short films about Exeter are being released in weekly episodes on screens across the city as well as online. The micro-documentaries ­– 12 in total ­ have been created by filmmaker David Salas and are based on the experiences and memories of Exeter residents.

Divided into two strands ­– A Tale of Two Cities and The Potential for Important Moments to Occur in Non-Descript Places – the documentaries focus on unknown aspects of the city and bring to light the personal experiences of some of its residents....

Vive La Culinary Revolution at the Exeter Street Food Market

From the bustling streets of New York to the covered markets of London, there is a revolution in progress. Thankfully this is not the blood, sweat and tear gas sort of revolution, but a culinary one – a revolution in street food. This delicious uprising is being led by an ever-growing number of al-fresco gastronomes, each bringing their own brand of unique gourmet food to the masses quite literally at street level.

For us Brits the idea of street food may once have conjured up images of dubious burger vans serving suspicious looking “meat” deep fried to within an inch of its life....

Nominations open for major new Devon awards

A major new awards ceremony is to be held next month to celebrate people in Devon who go the extra mile to help others in the community or who are doing extraordinary things without getting the recognition that they deserve.

Coinciding with the Devon County Show, and being held at Westpoint on the Friday evening of show week, the Guildhall Shopping Exeter Pride of Devon Awards is organised by 107.3FM Radio Exe. Members of the public can nominate people they know who qualify for one or more of the following categories:

Hug a Husky at Exeter's Guildhall Shopping Centre

Santas elves (Rod and Faye from Westcountry sled dog team) will be bringing in their husky team who love to race when they’re not helping Santa!

For a small donation you can have a hug and have your picture taken with one of the huskies.
