Man punched to floor in unprovoked attack

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault near the Guildhall Shopping Centre, Exeter at around 1.45am Sunday 2 August.

The victim was walking with his brother when he was confronted by a group of men, of which one punched the victim to the floor before running away from the scene in the direction of the Tesco Metro – he is believed to have been wearing a brown top.

The man sustained mouth and nose injuries in this unprovoked attack.

New landmark for Exeter's skyline

The skyline of Exeter has a new landmark, thanks to a 80 metre high tower crane which will play a vital role in the creation of city's Queen St Dining Quarter.

Aviva Investors and construction partners ISG who are creating the unique dining destination are taking delivery of a tower crane capable of lifting 4 tonnes, with a 50 metre reach which allows it to cover the whole of the 36,500 sq ft site.

Independent hearing specialist Broom Reid & Harris - one of Exeter's longest established businesses, is moving on from Guildhall Shopping Centre to new premises at Marsh Barton and open for business on 18 February 2015. The move is as a result of the Guildhall Shopping Centre £12m development, which is looking to attract 13 new restaurants.

Broom Reid & Harris was established in 1841 on Queen Street, Exeter as a Victorian Chemist.

A host of new restaurants are set to open in Exeter during the next 12 months.

Aviva Investors, the owners of the Guildhall Shopping Centre, are in talks which should see the first four or five new names, in what will be known as Queen Street, announced soon.

The re-opening of the popular Street Food Market at Exeter’s Guildhall Shopping Centre has been postponed until Friday 6 March due to the weather.
