Cranbrook Education Campus students curate gallery alongside award winning local artist

Cranbrook Education Campus , part of the Ted Wragg Trust family, welcomed local artist Brenda Thomas into the school this month, marking the first artistic contribution to the school's gallery initiative in 2024. The initiative, started in February 2023, aims to bring the world of art closer to the Cranbrook community.

Brenda Thomas works largely with recycled fabrics and her work is inspired by coastal walks with her dog. Her work has been exhibited around the country and several pieces have won national awards.

Thelma Hulbert Gallery (THG), Honiton plans to reopen its doors on the 11th July with the relaunch of its acclaimed exhibition: ARTIST ROOMS Richard Long Being in the Moment . Castle Fine Art reopens Exeter gallery

The UK’s leading art retailer, Castle Fine Art, has announced the reopening of 30 of its galleries nationwide, including its store in Exeter, from Monday 15 June.

As the nation welcomes the easing of lockdown, the doors to 30 galleries have reopened, with a series of measures put in place to keep customers, employees and artists safe amidst the “new normal”. Cat photo wins Devon boy national award

Striking images of a bewhiskered yawning cat and a red and black moth on a white flower caught the judges eyes at the prestigious RSPCA Young Photographer Awards 2017.

Youngsters aged under 19 were invited to capture the animal kingdom on camera or mobile device for this year’s competition.

Branscombe 12-year old Marlon Darragh’s photo of his cat ‘Milou’ yawning won the 12-15 mobile phone and devices category.

Marlon said: “I am so proud to be chosen. It’s the first photography competition I have ever entered and it has inspired me to go out and take more photos....

Sean Lynch: The Weight of the World

In this solo exhibition Irish artist Sean Lynch presents three new artworks commissioned by Spacex and inspired by aspects of RAMM’s collection.

The exhibition also features the UK premier of the video artwork Adventure:Capital, produced to represent Ireland at Venice Biennale 2015. Throughout his work Lynch caries out investigations into stories, historical records, and places, creating idiosyncratic narratives that signal new understanding and questions.
