The Boards of Flybe and Connect Airways, a company bringing together Virgin Atlantic Limited, Stobart Group and Cyrus Capital, are pleased to announce that they have reached agreement on the terms of a recommended cash offer for Flybe. Following which Connect Airways will acquire the entire issued, and to be issued, share capital of Flybe. Stobart Group will contribute Stobart Air and Propius, Stobart’s aircraft leasing business into Connect Airways. Flybe boosts Christmas and New Year flying from Exeter

Civic Leaders back Flybe

Civic leaders have signed an open letter backing Exeter-based airline Flybe and recognising the important contribution the company makes to the local economy.

The move comes as Flybe announced disappointing financial results this morning on the Stock Exchange.

Flybe is the largest independent regional airline in Europe and carries eight million passengers a year between 81 airports.

The airline employs 1,000 people at Exeter Airport including high value aviation and engineering roles. Two-thirds of passengers at Exeter Airport fly with Flybe.

Exeter Airport’s winter flight schedule brings new opportunities to do business in a sought-after location, where companies already benefit from business rate relief.

Flybe recently added some extra flights on key business routes from Exeter Airport bringing improved national and international connectivity for corporate and leisure trips.

Flybe extends shirt sponsorship with Exeter Chiefs

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has extended its long-standing sponsorship of Exeter Chiefs rugby club through the 2018/19 season.

For the ninth consecutive year, the distinctive Flybe logo again features on the back of the players’ shirts, the Exeter-based airline having been a Chiefs shirt sponsor since their first year in the top division in 2010. As a result, the logo has been prominent on the team’s shirts during all three Premiership finals, including their Championship winning season in 2017.
