Big Screen in the Park returns to Exeter this summer with not five, but six nights of cinematic magic under the stars.

A different film will be showing on each of the six nights in Northernhay Gardens, from 9-11 August.

With Mexican street food, local ale and ciders and delicious coffees from the BikeCaffe, grab your friends and celebrate the biggest Exeter Big Screen in The Park ever.

Gates open at 7.30pm with films starting at 9pm daily.

Tickets are £5 in advance or £6 on the gate. It costs an additional £1 to bring your own chair chair.

Films chart Cranbrook's development

A trilogy of short films, commissioned by East Devon District Council, charting the development of Cranbrook have been released.

The films capture three of the major milestones reached by the East Devon new town at the second half of last year. The films document the first shop opening, the first all-through school (first secondary school / second primary school) opened and the start of the train service.

Cranbrook is about to approach its fifth birthday, as the town was born when the first turf was cut on 29 June 2011.

Open Air Film and Chill

Film fans will be heading to Pavillion in the Park, Okehampton at the end of June as after details were revealed for a new open air cinema festival weekend.

Firm Open Air Film and Chill is set to bring two iconic films to the big screen, an all time favourite Top Gun on Friday 24th June and musical Dirty Dancing to the site on Saturday 25th June. Tickets are available to purchase online priced from £12, full details of purchase are available on the facebook page. Tickets are unlikely to be available to purchase on the night.

Wherever you are in the world, Devon-based company, Alive Studios, has just made it possible to manage film and image transfer without the use of a computer thanks to its new “Karishma Cloud App”.

We’re counting down towards April 23rd, children everywhere are putting on their Iron Man masks and wearing their Hulk gloves. The release of The Avengers: Age of Ultron is a huge event in the movie (and real) world and it is likely to become the highest grossing superhero movie of all time, beating its own previous instalment The Avengers which took a mammoth 1.5 billion at the box office in 2012.

Here in Exeter it will be screened first at the Vue cinema at one minute past midnight on April 23rd, that showing has now started selling tickets and they are already going fast....
