The 14th Crediton Parish Church Christmas Tree Festival is being held from Thursday 1 December until Sunday 4 December. Over 70 community decorated and illuminated trees will fill the church and make an amazing display especially as the natural light begins to fade. The opening hours are 11am - 6pm (Thurs & Fri), 10.30am - 7pm (Sat) and 11am - 5pm (Sun) Admission is free.

Guided tours to the historic Governors Room daily at 12 noon and to the Bell Tower 2pm daily. Stalls in the church and nearby Boniface Centre.

Deliveroo creates 125 jobs in Exeter

Deliveroo, the on-demand delivery service for high-quality restaurant meals, is celebrating its first birthday in Exeter.

Since its launch last year, more than 25 restaurants have signed up to Deliveroo and more than 125 jobs have been created for local people in Exeter, with the majority of these being the Deliveroo riders that aim to deliver your food which will be cooked fresh to order and delivered to your door within 30 minutes.

SW employers grow in confidence despite Brexit

The fourth quarter of 2016 has seen a boost of confidence in the South West with hiring intentions of +3%, according to Manpower, the world’s workforce experts. The Employment Outlook in the region has risen by two percentage points from last quarter. The Manpower Employment Outlook Survey is based on responses from 2,102 UK employers. Police have charged seven men with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in Exeter.

A police investigation was launched after reports of a stabbing at a property in the area of Lower Summerlands and Clifton Road, Exeter on Wednesday 6 April.

The following men have all been charged with attempted murder:

Family event celebrates all that is great about Britain

STUNNING manor house Bridwell Park will be opening its doors to the public this September, as part of a two-day family event to celebrate all that is great about the UK.

The Great British Day Out, which will feature music, entertainment, stalls and even survival workshops, will be taking place at the stately home in Uffculme over the weekend of September 17 and 18.

It is the first time in its 240-year history that the Georgian property, which is the family home of Lord Ivar Mountbatten, has opened its doors to the public for an event of this kind.

The exceptionally talented urban artist, My Dog Sighs made an appearance today at Exe Bridges, in St Thomas, Exeter, where he was joined by many other "great paint throwers" after having been invited to redecorate the undersides of the bridges on the banks. This team of craftspersons will be working Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September 2016, transforming the bridges into platforms of colour and vibrance, brightening up the city and giving the Exe Bridges area the new vivacity that it needs.
