Ten teams of students participating in the Young Enterprise Company Programme from schools and colleges in Devon will be holding their Spring Trade Fair at the Historic Guildhall in Exeter High Street.

The Lord Mayor is opening the event at 10am.

The teams have bee running their own companies in the last six months, expereincing the highs and lows of running a business. the teams are selling a variety of products that they have developed

Living Options Devon (LOD) is an award winning, Devon-based charity which supports local disabled and Deaf people to live the life they choose.

Over 8,000 disabled and Deaf people benefit from the charity's charitable activities each year.

They include an equipment and support service for people with sensory loss; a Countryside Mobility scheme enabling people with limited mobility to better access the outdoors and a campaigning service for Deaf people who use British Sign Language.

Higher Cemetery ashes section improved

Improvements have been carried out to an area in Exeter’s Higher Cemetery.

The ashes section next door to the World War II areas of the cemetery in Heavitree was prone to becoming a muddy patch of grass during wet weather but now the area has been smartened up and made better for visitors.

New footpaths giving greater access have been installed and the memorials have been set against a smart stone background.

Businesses warned of tool sharpening scam

Itinerant traders offering tool sharpening services may be headed back to Devon and Somerset warn Trading Standards.

The concern is that they will try to charge thousands of pounds for work that isn’t agreed.

The men have recently approached businesses in Suffolk, and seem to be following the same method of operation in the Southwest.

Exeter School celebrated the Ides of March, the day Julius Caesar met his end, with a visit by a bestselling author of books about the Romans.

Ben Kane, who has been writing bestsellers about Roman soldiers and gladiators for ten years now, appeared at the school on 15 March dressed as a Roman soldier, bringing with him a complete legionary's equipment: boots, shield, chain mail, helmet and the dreaded gladius, the Roman short sword.

Mush is a new free app that connects mums with other local, like-minded mums and generates friendships.
