HRH The Countess of Wessex will spend two days at the 122nd Devon County Show next month, it was announced yesterday (Thursday). The Countess is President of the Devon County Agricultural Association, which stages the Devon County Show. During the 60's & 70's the sensational Spinners took the TV screens and music world by storm and introduced many of us to the folk scene with a combination of traditional folk music, many well known songs by Ewan MacColl, sea shanties, Christmas songs and those which simply made us laugh.

Mick Groves and Hughie Jones, 'the last two Spinners standing' who are both now in their 80's, will be meeting up for a one off concert at Countess Wear Village Hall in Exeter on June 15th.

Family secrets uncovered by the new Earl of Devon, Charlie Courtenay - including an ancestor so close to Henry V that the King had him buried in his Royal tomb in Westminster Abbey – are revealed in a new exhibition at Powderham castle. Son helps plant memorial tree at care home where his mother lived

A local man, whose Mother lived at Lucerne House Care Home in Exeter at the end of her life, has helped plant a memorial tree outside the care home as a permanent way for care home staff, residents, relatives and friends of the home to remember those who lived there. Exeter City Futures is facilitating a collaboration between City Science and Lightfoot to offer free Lightfoot devices to drivers in Exeter. One of the biggest problems with modern day motoring is that good drivers are paying for all the bad drivers out there on the road. Not to mention the air quality issues that bad drivers create.
