Man loses finger after assault at Devon railway station

A man had to have his finger amputated after an assault at Teignmouth railway station in Devon.

British Transport Police would like to speak to the men shown in the CCTV images in connection with the incident.

The offence happened on Saturday 23 December 2017 at around 10.45pm.

The victim, a 45-year-old man, was assaulted by a group of people in the station car park. He remembers regaining consciousness in the car park.

He believed he had minor injuries but the following day noticed what appeared to be a bite to his little finger.

A two-day running festival staged by CITY Community Trust has been declared a huge success.

More than 450 runners braved the elements to take on the Exeter Half Marathons, which began at the Quay and followed a two-lap route along the River Exe and through Riverside Valley Park.

Public consultation on Exeter's Air Quality Action Plan underway

Consultation on draft measures in the plan to improve air quality and cut traffic congestion in the city will last for three months.

Residents, commuters and visitors are being urged to complete an online survey on the council's website.

Some people may also be asked to take part in representative, face-to-face surveys, and a number of focus groups will also be set up.

A major public consultation event will take place at Exeter's Guildhall on Tuesday, March 13, from 8am to 8pm.

A researcher from Exeter will be pounding the pavements in the Bath Half Marathon in aid of Diabetes UK, the charity that funds her work. The run on Sunday, 4 March 2018 will see around 12,000 runners take to the streets of the World Heritage City to tackle the 13.1-mile route. Preparatory work has got underway today (Monday 12 February) to upgrade traffic signals at a junction in Exeter.

The signals at the junction of Alphington Road/Grace Road/Cowick Lane and Alphington Road/Church Road in Exeter have reached the end of their serviceable lives and it is essential they are replaced.
