Exeter residents views invited on Electric Vehicle charge-point proposals

Exeter residents are invited to give their views on proposals to install rapid-charging electric vehicle (EV) charge points at 10 locations across the City.

The locations proposed are Barrack Road, Belmont Road, Cowick Hill, Hanover Road, Haven Road, Howell Road, Kinnerton Way, Langaton Lane, St Leonards Road and Whipton Lane.

A Traffic Regulation Order is being advertised and members of the public can comment up until February 11, 2021 by going to Devon County Council’s (DCC) website; http://devon.cc/e-hyz

Harlequins planning decision not to be called in by government

An application to redevelop Harlequins Shopping Centre will not be decided by the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, it has been revealed.

Exeter City Council approved plans to turn the Centre into co-living apartments, along with a hotel and other facilities, back in October.

However, requests were then made to the government calling on the Secretary of State, Robert Jenrick, to make the final decision because of the impact on the historic environment.

Council to offer garden and landscaping services to householders in Exeter

Householders in Exeter may soon be able to take advantage of a variety of council-run garden and landscaping services.

Exeter City Council is looking to broaden out a number of its services like landscape gardening and path and patio laying.

People are being encouraged to take photographs of ‘Wildlife at Home’ in a fantastic new competition with some great prizes up for grabs.

Exeter City Council has partnered up with Devon Wildlife Trust, who manage Exeter’s Valley Parks on behalf of the Council, to see what wildlife people have in their gardens or backyards across the city.
