Barchester’s Cumberland Grange care home, in Exeter, got in the Christmas spirit by throwing a Christmas party for residents and their friends and families.

Cumberland Grange’s Christmas party was in full swing (literally) as they were joined by Swing Exe, a local swing dancing group who got the party started. They had residents and their families up on their feet dancing to some wonderful classical tunes. Stagecoach announced today (December 19) that it is extending its offer of a maximum fare of just £2 for a single bus journey in England.

The offer, part of the National Bus Fare Cap scheme, has been extended until the end of June 2024 – meaning more people can join the 84 million Stagecoach bus passengers who have already taken advantage of the new £2 single fares since their launch in January 2023.

Devon & Cornwall Police is reminding people to take care of themselves, their friends and family while celebrating the festive period in its latest drive to tackle violent crime.

Year 7 students from West Exe School, part of the Ted Wragg Trust, have recorded a Christmas jingle to be played on East Devon Radio this festive season.

The Lord Mayor of Exeter has officially opened a new rehoming, advice and behaviour unit from national pet charity Blue Cross in the city.

Dogs, cats and small animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs will be cared for in foster homes whilst they are waiting to be matched to a new home by the team at the unit at Matford Park Road, Marsh Barton.

Recycle your real Christmas tree to support your local hospice

Hospiscare have launched their annual Christmas Tree Recycling scheme to support end-of-life care across the heart of Devon.

On Thursday 11, Friday 12 and Saturday 13 January 2024, Hospiscare and a team of volunteers will be heading out in full force to collect and recycle Christmas trees in return for a donation to the local charity.
