Shared chief executive deal set to end

An arrangement that has seen EDDC sharing its Chief Executive with South Somerset District Council is set to come to an end after five years.

Mark Williams has been carrying out the dual role since February 2010, with both authorities sharing the costs on an equal basis. The arrangement was reviewed in 2013 and the contract renewed for a further three years.

Clyst Honiton to get 'wonder wall'

Clyst Honiton Parish Council and East Devon District Council have worked together to get the brand new sports activity wall that Clyst Honiton residents wanted.

The £3,450 sports 'wonder wall' is due to be installed on Clyst Honiton recreation field shortly and will be open and ready for use at Clyst Honiton Fete on Saturday 16 May. It will be free to use and will have markings and a goal for sports such as five-a-side football, basketball / netball and cricket.

On 3rd May 2015, suddenly but peacefully in the RD&E Hospital, aged 77 years, after a long illness bravely fought with dignity. Much loved mother of Terry, Cheryl, Patrick and Charlotte, sister of John and Gary.

Will be sadly missed by family and friends.

On 7th May 2015, passed away peacefully at the Exeter Hospice aged 46 years following a THREE year battle with cancer, he put up a great fight.

Beloved husband of Clair, dearly loved dad of Katie and a much loved step dad of Rebecca. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to say a huge thank you to all the doctors and nurses who took great care of him, especially in his final days.

Council prepares to release documents that sparked tribunal

East Devon District Council has started making preparations to release documents containing background information about the proposed move of the council’s offices away from Knowle.

This follows a ruling by an appeal tribunal, calling on the council to divulge the information, but recognising the council's case that some sensitive words or passages should be blocked out – or ‘redacted’.
