This Is Our City - a Liveable Exeter event

Liveable Exeter are inviting community leaders to the ‘This Is Our City’ speaker event at RAMM on 20 July. The event will encourage people within the city to enjoy the Brick by Brick exhibition, and most importantly, to have a say in the Exeter Plan.

The ‘Brick by Brick’ exhibition, which is currently on display at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, shows nine Lego models, each displaying how Exeter would have looked at a snapshot in time, from the Jurassic period when dinosaurs roamed, right up to the present day, and the future, which shows Exeter as a garden city.

Disabled motorists and their friends, families and carers can find out all they need to know about getting mobile with the Motability Scheme at its One Big Day event at Westpoint, Exeter on 23 July 2022.

Free to attend and with free parking, One Big Day Exeter will continue the Motability Scheme’s programme of events taking place throughout the UK this summer.

Unique contest sees Devon students tackle global issues

Young people from Devon developed solutions to major global environmental issues in a unique school competition run by the Ted Wragg Trust.

More than 50 students from schools in Exeter and Plymouth took part in the first Ted Wragg Trust Innovation Competition, tackling the complex issues of sustainable transport links and the problem of microplastics.

Exeter family saves over £3,500 by ditching private car and switching to car club

Households can save hundreds of pounds every year by switching from a private vehicle to car club membership, new research has revealed.

Mark Richardson, 50, a foodbank manager from Exeter, has told how he and his family saved £3,500 since giving up their private car in 2020.

The new research by Collaborative Mobility UK (CoMoUK) comes as the charity launches a new tool which tells people how much money, carbon and calories they could save by using car clubs, bike share schemes, walking and cycling.

How to get vaccinated this summer

The spring booster programme draws to a close this month, but it’s not too late for people who are eligible to have their vaccination and clinics will still run over the summer.

People turning 75 on or after 1 July will not be eligible for the spring booster, however anyone who is eligible on 30th of June will still be able to have their vaccination during July.
