Exeter’s state-of-the-art new leisure centre St Sidwell’s Point has won two more prestigious awards.

The striking Passivhaus building won the national RICS award for Environmental Impact at a prestigious ceremony in London.

On the same day, it won best Civic Development at the Exeter Property Awards.

Police appeal after large scale altercation in Exeter

Devon and Cornwall Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a large altercation in Exeter over the weekend that resulted in one person being hospitalised.

Police were called just after 1.30am on Sunday 23 October following reports of a large altercation involving around 30 people in the Guildhall area of Exeter City Centre.

Following this incident, a man was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with facial injuries.

Police arrested a local man in connection to this matter, he has since been released under investigation pending further...

More households about to get food waste collections in Exeter

Almost 2,000 more households in Exeter are set to get food waste collections, the City Council has announced.

Phase three of the roll-out is set to begin shortly, with 1,146 households in Beacon Heath receiving caddies and a letter explaining how the collections will work. An additional 709 properties in the ward and in Pinhoe will follow a short while later.

The UK’s first super energy-efficient Extra Care scheme has opened in Exeter, with a number of residents already settling in to the state-of-the-art facility.

Cumberland Grange care home in Exeter threw a wonderful party with live music, prosecco and canapes to celebrate their 1st year of care and serving the local community.

Staff, residents and guests commemorated this special occasion together and had a fabulous night dancing, singing, eating and drinking!

Exeter declares cost of living emergency

A cost of living emergency has been declared by Exeter councillors, after they heard about some of the struggles being faced by residents.
