A host of your favourite regular vinyl and CD dealers from the South West along with a couple of returning dealers that have not attended for a while.

With all the dealers having masses of good quality Vinyl Records, CDs and much more to choose from and following on from the success of the last fair, it should be another good event for everyone.

Doors open at 9.30am, entry is £1. For the earlybirds entry can be from 8am with a £3 fee. The fair finishes at around 4pm.

Vintage wedding fair returns to Exeter

The buzz word is ‘vintage’ as Blue Fizz Events announces its latest wedding fair for all brides to be... The Decidedly Different Vintage Wedding Fair on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th January.

The fair is being held one of the most stunning venues in Exeter and located just off the High Street, Exeter Castle . Following the huge success of last year's event, this 'vintage spectacular' will be running for two days this year, open 11am-4pm both days.

Visitors to the event will be able roam the court rooms, ballroom and courtyard where over 60 exhibitors will be showcasing...

Nominations are open to highlight mental health heroes in Devon.

The Deputy Prime Minister is calling on people to nominate unsung mental health heroes in their local area as part of his campaign to raise awareness of mental health problems. One in four people will experience a mental health problem this year but for many the stigma and discrimination that surrounds mental health will make it harder for them to speak out and seek the support they need. Boys cook up a logo for food sessions at youth club

Just before Christmas, three boys from the SWITCH youth club, run by East Devon District Council community development workers, came into the council offices at Knowle to work on their winning logo design with a professional graphic artist – and to collect their prizes.

The logo is for a joint partnership project where HALFF – a food charity based in Axminster – have been encouraging the young people to work together, cooking food from scratch. They will also be creating their own recipes and turning them into a book.

The name they came up with for the project is FOODtastic...

Rugby World Cup to inspire youngsters

Young people struggling to find work will have the opportunity to boost their job prospects thanks to a Rugby World Cup 2015 inspired project set up by Exeter City Council and the Exeter and Heart of Devon Employability and Skills Board.

Launched at Sandy Park, the two-week pilot programme uses sport to inspire 16–24 year olds, giving them new life skills and confidence to help them progress into the work place, an apprenticeship or further training.

If successful, the hope is that additional funding can be secured to roll out the programme through 2015, so more people can...

Baroness backs call for public rail for the South West

Green Baroness, Jenny Jones, today backed local campaigners calling to bring the Railway network and its operation into public hands.

Local Green Party campaigners joined Union representatives at Exeter St David’s and Central Stations to greet commuters as they headed back to work. The action was one of many across the South West and other parts of the UK taking place in the wake of the annual hike in rail fares.

Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership and First Great Western are working together to improve Exeter St Thomas station and are looking for local residents to join in this improvement drive.

The Friends of Exeter St Thomas Station will help plan murals for the station platform walls and some greenery on the platforms and get involved in planting and watering.

The first meeting of the new Friends group will be on Tuesday 13 January at the Riverside Christian Centre, 13-14 Okehampton Street, Exeter, EX4 1DU. Coffee and cakes will be available from 4pm, and the meeting will start...

The Venus Awards National Final takes place on the 23 January.

The Devon Regional winners will compete against more than a hundred other Venus Award Winners from around the country. This sold out event is being held at the Audleys Wood HandPicked Hotel in Basingstoke.

Established in 2009 as the Langtry Manor Business women awards to reward local hard working women, they quickly expanded and rebranded as the Venus Awards and have recognised tens of thousands of inspirational women across the country.
