Exeter Enterprise Rotary raise £1,500+ for Royal Marines Hasler Company

So far over £1,500 has been raised from a charity golf day at Exeter Golf and Country Club on Thursday 13 June. This was the fifth annual golf day, organised by Exeter Enterprise Rotary which involved 25 teams of 4 from all over the UK.

The day was to raise funds and awareness of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust and their work in supporting injured and wounded Royal Marines.

As well as corporate teams, teams from Rotary Clubs and from the Royal Marines including the Hasler Company took part on the day.

Economist offers a glimmer of hope to business leaders

Former Bank of England agent Kevin Butler this evening gave business leaders a glimmer of hope when he addressed an audience at Exeter Golf and Country Club.

Mr Butler, who is now a consultant economist, said he believed there was some good news on the horizon.

However, he claimed we "we're still some way off" and there would be a "muddling through process" before the economy begins to pick up.

Lose Xmas pounds and raise pounds for charity

If you've indulged a little too much over Christmas, why not raise pounds by losing pounds?

The 2013 Dream-A-Weigh weightloss challenge was today launched by Exeter charity Dream-A-Way.

All you need to do is weigh in as soon as you can then complete the annual challenge by losing 10% of your start weight and raising more than £100 to support the charity's work.

The first 20 challengers to sign up will receive complimentary membership for the new gym at The Exeter Golf and Country Club, Topsham Road.

The C Group charity event at Exeter Golf and Country Club

The Royal Marines C Group charity presented to a networking event at the Exeter Golf and Country Club and awarded the Club’s 2013 President with their Ambassador status.

The C Group supports Royal Marines in need, particularly those who have been injured on operations and in transition to civilian life.

The charity was initiated in 2008 by Major General Andy Salmon CMG OBE following discussions with members of Exeter Business Community who offered help to overcome the barriers between service and civilian life.

Exeter squash players to meet top UK player Tim Vail

Tim Vail, one of the UK's top squash players will visit Exeter Golf and Country Club on Monday 25 November.

Tim, who is a Level 4 coach and former world number 111 as well as British National over 35s Squash Champion and 5 times National Racketball Champion will be taking on the squash coaches and offering techniques and top tips to Exeter squash members.

Starting at 7pm, Tim will be available for some free coaching and advice on how to improve squash techniques and develop strategies to win.
