Saturday 23rd July, 10.30-15.30 (Cathedral Green ) Visit the Cathedral's Roman activities stall on Cathedral Green (in partnership with the Royal Albert Memorial Museum) and find out more about the Roman archaeology beneath your feet. Can you solve the roof tile puzzle, make a mosaic with real Roman pieces and sort out your ‘mortaria’; from your ‘samian’? Why not try your hand at our mini-dig excavations, make a Roman serpent bracelet, or create a brooch? (This event may move inside due to weather conditions on the day. West Front Drawing Competition

Saturday 23rd July – Saturday 27th August during normal visitor hours What does the Cathedral look like to you? Put your sketching skills to the test and send us your picture of the West Front of the Cathedral. You can use pencils, pens, paints, charcoal or anything you like to create your drawing. Please submit your entry to the Front Desk at the Cathedral. Prizes will be available for categories in the following age ranges: 4 – 7, 7-11, 11-16, 16 – 18. All work will be exhibited once the competition comes to a close. Prizes for each category TBA. FREE.

Heraldry Treasure Hunt

Saturday 23rd July – Saturday 27th August during normal visitor hours Become a knight and join a quest to spot the shields hidden around the Cathedral. Follow the clues that will lead you to each one, and find out who each shield belongs to. Once you have finished, take your completed sheet to the shop, where you will receive your prize. £1 per child which includes a small prize at the end. Suitable for all ages.
