Charity to hold celebration of unique mill heritage

Devon Wildlife Trust is giving people to explore Exeter’s last working watermill at the charity’s annual National Mills Weekend family event.

On Sunday 14 May visitors will be given the opportunity to witness the historic mill in action, as volunteer millers start the water wheel turning and grind grain into flour. Cricklepit Mill, based near Exeter Quay, serves as Devon Wildlife Trust’s headquarters and is recognised as an important part of the city’s history, with over 800 years of milling heritage and Exeter’s only functioning watermill. Seaton’s wonderful new Jurassic themed adventure golf course in Seafield Gardens has been officially opened (on Friday 7 April) by East Devon District Council, Seaton Town Council and LED, who have worked hard in partnership to make this exciting visitor attraction ready for residents and visitors to enjoy this spring.

'A Celebration of Books' featuring books and cupcakes from the Exeter Authors Association

Exeter Authors Association is holding a book celebration as part of CredFest17 on 17th June from 2-5pm at Crediton Library.

This will be a highly interactive, free event to celebrate writing in Devon.

There is room for only 80 visitors in the venue, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
