A turf cutting has been held to mark the recent start of improvements to the A379 Sandy Park Junction in Exeter
Earthworks are underway on the £2.5 million upgrade to create a signalised junction which will allow all traffic movements. A recent overnight closure has enabled temporary barriers to be installed to protect the workforce and also road users from excavations.

A section of Blundell’s Road in Tiverton will be closed during the half-term holiday later this month as work on road safety and traffic calming improvements nears completion.
The road will be closed between Horsdon Terrace and Blundell’s Preparatory School from Monday 24 October to Friday 28 October to complete surfacing work.
Work on the £1.1 million scheme, which is introducing a series of traffic-calming measures to reduce speeds and make it easier for pedestrians to cross the road, started in July and is due to be completed on Friday 28 October.

Giselle Ansley, part of the GB hockey squad who won gold in Rio 2016, paid Exeter School pupils a visit on Thursday 13 October. It was great for pupils to see how somebody from South Devon has gone on to represent GB at the Olympics and brought home a gold medal!
She attended school in South Devon with Mrs Clark and started playing hockey at Paignton Junior Hockey Club before moving to Plymouth Marjon and then continued to play during her studies at Loughborough University. She made her debut for England against South Africa in February 2013.
