Have you seen missing Benjamin Gardner?

Police in Gloucestershire are appealing for the public's help to find a missing man who was last seen in Exeter.

Benjamin Gardner, 28, has not been seen since Friday 4 August after he checked out of the Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel.

Officers are concerned for his welfare and are urging the public to call police on 101 if they see him.

Benjamin, from Cinderford in the Forest of Dean Area, is described as white, slim build, 5ft 5ins tall, with brown cropped hair and a moustache.

He was last seen wearing a green/brown knitted woollen jumper, light blue jeans...

Woman dies after quad bike overturns

A 63-year-old woman has died after her quad bike overturned at Sampford Courtenay, Okehampton on Monday [14 August].

Police are investigating the collision which happened on the B3215 at Appledore Hill around 6pm.

The rider sustained serious chest injuries and was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. She died in the early hours of Tuesday [15 August].

Exeter shop worker left blind in one eye after assault

Police are keen to trace three men who may have information vital to a police investigation following a serious assault in Exeter.

On Monday 7 August 2017 at approximately 9.10pm, three men entered The Co-Operative store on Alphington Road, Exeter.

The men were asked to leave the store by an employee. One of the men then punched the member of staff a number of times before leaving the store and running off with the other two other men in the direction of Waterloo Road.

£1,000 donated to help children with cancer

Children who are treated for cancer at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital are set to enjoy a variety of new toys for their outdoor play area thanks to a £1,000 donation from the St George’s Masonic Lodge in Exeter.

The donation has been made by the Lodge in memory Jennie Wortham who spent six years under the care of the Paediatric Oncology Team on Bramble Ward before she died of neuroblastoma in November 1997.

RD&E staff raise over £490 for FORCE Cancer Charity

Staff at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital have raised over £490 for local cancer charity FORCE after fundraising at their annual Extraordinary People Awards evening.

The ‘Winner of Winners’ event, which was held in May at the Research Innovation Learning and Development (RILD) building, was a celebration of all the extraordinary RD&E staff who go the extra mile for patients and colleagues every day. David Suchet joins Exeter Northcott Anniversary Gala line-up

Exeter Northcott Theatre is delighted to announce that celebrated actor David Suchet will perform in its 50th anniversary gala in November.

David is an Olivier and Emmy Award winner, best known for playing Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot having starred in all 74 television movies over 25 years. Suchet has also starred in numerous films and television series internationally whilst also maintaining an impressive theatre career.

Work begins on new Alphington Road crossing

Work on a new staggered signal-controlled crossing across Alphington Road, which will help vulnerable pedestrians access the retail park, started on Monday (14 August).

The Devon County Council (DCC) scheme, on the north side of the Sydney Road/Alphington Road Retail Park junction, will cost £110,000 and take approximately six weeks to complete. Alphington Road is one of the busiest routes by traffic volume in Exeter, and typically there are 1,000 vehicles an hour in each direction.
