Devon’s Top Attractions are getting ready for a Spooktacular half term of fun and Halloween happenings and will be offering the very best selection of scary fun and spooky surprises.

A spell will be cast across the county this October Half Term with many ‘trick or treats’ on offer. From bats to broomsticks, pumpkins to parties, it’s all going on! There will be lots of low key Halloween and pumpkin fun for the preschoolers and younger ones and lots of spine-chilling frightful fun for the older children.

Make a date in your diaries for the Crediton Parish Church Christmas Tree Festival between Thursday 7th and Sunday 10th December 2017. This year’s Festival will open from 11am to 6pm on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th Dec, 10.30am to 7pm Saturday 9th Dec and on Sunday 10th Dec from 11am to 5pm.

Admission is FREE, there is disabled access and free car parking.

Refreshments will be available in the Boniface Centre Christmas Cracker Cafe from 10am to 4pm on Thursday and Friday, 10am to 5pm on Saturday and on Sunday 2pm to 5pm

Have your say in designs for new skate park

Skate fans are to get a new skate park in Exeter.

A new facility is to be built at Arena Park and skaters are being asked to help choose the design by taking part in an online survey.

The old facility was recently broken up and removed after it had become rotten and dangerous. The Council had been hoping to prolong the life of the old facility but it proved beyond repair.

Cllr Stephen Brimble, Lead Councillor for Place, said: “The old equipment was incredibly well used by skaters from across Exeter and beyond for ten years and proved immensely popular.

On Tuesday (31 October), Exeter’s Red Coat Guides will be running their annual Spooks & Broomsticks tour of the city.

Discover more about the most haunted parts of Exeter, with fascinating, spooky tales suitable for all the family.

Tours start from 6.15pm and will be running regularly until 7pm. They are completely free of charge with no need to book, just turn up at the Richard Hooker statue on Cathedral Green and join a tour. Fancy dress is very welcome!

Yarcombe Young Farmers support Exeter’s Neonatal Unit

The Yarcombe and District Young Farmers Club (YFC) have donated £1,000 to the Neonatal Unit at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital to help support their work caring for poorly babies and their families.

The club selected the unit as one of their chosen charities for the year because of the specialist support it provides for people from their local community. They also chose to support the Neonatal Unit at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton and children’s charity Over the Wall - raising £3,000 in total for their three charities, to be divided equally between them.
