New beach clean boards welcomed beside the sea

Teignbridge’s award winning beaches aim to be even cleaner with the help of new litter picking boards encouraging beach goers to collect marine litter every time they visit.

Helen hits the heights for FORCE

Super cyclist Helen Hulme has just completed another epic bike ride in aid of FORCE Cancer Charity.

The former Devon County Council social worker from Exeter rode 522 miles from Girona to Bilbao.

Seasonal dog ban comes into force

The East Devon seasonal dog ban is now in force. The ban covers all of the town beaches in East Devon, other than some designated areas on each beach.

Dog owners, visitors and walkers are reminded to check on the council website at http://eastdevon.gov.uk/dogs/ if they are not sure where they can take their dog.

A new report published by the British Red Cross and Aviva shows that the majority of people in Devon want to help if disaster strikes in their community but would not know what to do. (1)

Preferred options identified for new Okehampton railway station

A feasibility study into a new railway station at Okehampton has identified two preferred options.

The study was commissioned by Devon County Council to inform discussions between Great Western Railway and the Department for Transport in the ongoing efforts to develop plans for the introduction of a service.
