Devon Air Ambulance will temporarily be responding to patients solely by critical care car but its critical care paramedics will still be able to respond to patients with their specialist skills and equipment. Heléna Holt, CEO, explains “Standing down our aircraft has been a very difficult decision for us to make but one we have had to take in order to protect all of our crew.” She added “Whilst the paramedics wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when treating and conveying patients, our pilots cannot operate the aircraft wearing PPE. The Make a Difference campaign was launched to link up those in need of help with those who can provide it.
It is the biggest response the BBC has ever had to a Local Radio campaign.
Make a Difference has already helped get essential items to a terminally ill father of three, find a lift to work for an NHS worker whose car had broken down and stopped a man from getting evicted from his home.

This week’s sunshine was the perfect time to open the gates and let them run free. The donkeys needed no encouragement to kick up their heels, roll and run as they let off steam and enjoyed the...

Baxter said: “I don’t mind telling you, it’s the biggest question that goes through my mind every time I re-sign...

For most routes this means a Sunday timetable with additional early morning journeys to allow key workers to commute. These special timetables will run Mondays to Saturdays with majority then operating a normal Sunday service.
The list of those Championship originals is slowly dwindling, but at least one name will continue for a few years yet, after it was confirmed prop Ben Moon has signed a new long-term contract with the Exeter Chiefs.
Moon follows fellow front-row forward and England international Harry Williams in committing his future to the Devon club.
A product of the club’s highly-successful Academy set-up, 30-year-old Moon has been at the heart of Exeter’s rise in recent years, initially helping the club out of English rugby’s second tier in 2010 – to now establishing themselves as a...
