Exeter's new designer charity boutique on Paris Street, Sprout, which raises funds for homeless charity Emmaus, will be officially launched on Wednesday 6th October by Terry Waite, the charity's President and former special envoy to the Archbishop of Canterbury who was taken captive in Lebanon in 1987 whilst negotiating the release of Western hostages. The shop was decorated by a team of former homeless people, who rolled up their sleeves for the charity that helped them to get their lives back on track.

Medicine students from the University of Exeter put their clinical training into practice at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival, volunteering as first responders to provide essential medical care for festival-goers.
As part of the Festival Medical Services (FMS) team, the students treated a range of incidents and illnesses during the five-day event, which attracted over 210,000 attendees from 25–29 June. Their work offered valuable hands-on experience in emergency care at one of the UK’s largest and most high-profile music festivals.

Thousands of solar panels are being installed as the University of Exeter continues its shift to renewable energy.
Once completed, the new panels – including 1,800 on land near Duryard Halls of Residence – should increase total solar generation on the University’s Exeter campuses to 4.1 megawatt-hours (MWh) per year.

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life and work of Eddie Farwell, Co-Founder and retiring CEO of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), will take place at Exeter Cathedral on Tuesday 17 June 2025.
