Did you witness East Devon burglary?

A burglary took place at a bed and breakfast on Charmouth Road near the Hunters Lodge Pub just outside Axminster between 3.15-5.45pm on Monday 6th April.

Cash has been taken from the property, and police are hoping that someone witnessed the break-in or saw something suspicious.

Detective Constable Matthew Burnell, said: “At the time the A35 was closed which meant that the queue of Bank Holiday traffic tailed back past the affected address.

Devon Sports Awards finalists announced

The finalists for the prestigious 2015 Exeter Foundation Devon Sports Awards have been announced.

The Awards, which are being held at Exeter venue Sandy Park on the 8th May, attracted a record number of nominations from sports varying from archery, athletics and Tae Kwon-do to sailing, skateboarding and table tennis.

The judging panel, coordinated by Active Devon, who are overseeing the Awards together with the Exeter Foundation, have narrowed the nominations down to 26 finalists in seven categories from an extremely strong pool of entries.

Due to the overwhelming success of RGB Building Supplies’ Well Built Community Fund, the builders' merchant is delighted to announce that they are relaunching it and will be giving away a further £1,000 worth of building materials every other month until March next year.

Having made donations to a charity, a sports club, school, community group and care home last year, RGB will be calling out for different deserving groups to make contact with them this year and tell them how they can help.
