Poltimore on the Eve of the First World War

Spend a morning, afternoon or even all day with members of Poltimore Estate Research Society as they explain their discoveries regarding the people and houses of the village in the early 20th century.

The morning session offers displays and short talks from 10.30am-12.30pm.

Refreshments will be available to buy from the Cafe between Sessions, including Soup & Roll, Pasties and Sandwiches to order

Meet in the Chapel for the afternoon session which will involve a short, guided walk around the village and wider estate from 1.30pm-4pm.

There is a charge for the walk to include tea and cake.

Poltimore House has a prominent place in Devon’s culture: one of the great historic estates of the county and BBC2's Restoration programme in 2003 brought Poltimore to national attention.
