The Exeter Singers, conducted by Tony Yates are holding a charity concert in aid of the “Meet and Remember Club”, a newly formed charity serving local people and in particular those with early or moderate dementia. The club meets weekly on Wednesdays at The Beacon, Beacon Heath. The choir will be performing a variety of music, from madrigals to Cole Porter, interspersed with poetry and solo piano and voice. A new work for choir and orchestra inspired by a book of Saxon poetry is to be heard for the first time at Exeter Cathedral on March 12.

‘The Seafarer’ by Andrew Millington will be performed by The Exeter Philharmonic Choir in a special, sea-themed concert. Andrew was Director of Music at Exeter Cathedral from 1999 to 2015 and has been leading the choir since 2003. For the new work, his first for choir and orcestra, Andrew has used lines from the modern English translation of the 'Exeter Book' a Saxon text kept at the Cathedral, along with phrases from the Book of Psalms that...
