A resident at RMBI Care Co. Cadogan Court, in Exeter, has celebrated her 101st birthday.

Janet Wigmore enjoyed a party at the Home with fellow residents. The staff, determined to ensure that she had a memorable birthday, arranged a celebration at lunchtime with flowers, balloons and a delicious cake.

Residents at RMBI Care Co. Home Cadogan Court, in Exeter, were all of a flutter this week when some friendly feathered visitors came to visit.

Echo the European Eagle owl, Chestnut the Tawny owl, and Barley the Barn owl were among the guests. Delighted residents loved meeting them and learning all about them from Richard and Sharon Beech, owners of Hawkridge Bird of Prey Centre.

Exeter care home residents explore the secrets of Haldon Forest

Residents at RMBI Care Co. Home Cadogan Court, in Exeter, were delighted to be able to enjoy a day trip to Haldon Forest Park, following the current guidance from the government. Since this summer, care home residents have been able to participate in low-risk, out-of-home activities without having to self-isolate on their return to the care homes.

Exeter care home resident is reunited with daughter once again

Residents at RMBI Care Co. Home Cadogan Court, in Exeter, were delighted to be able to meet their loved ones in person for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

The Home has opened its doors to family visits, following new guidance from the government, which allows each care home resident to receive visits from one family member or loved one.

Exeter care home residents and staff support Movember

Residents and staff at RMBI Care Co. Home Cadogan Court in Exeter supported Movember this week to raise awareness of men’s health issues.

Ladies and gentlemen at the Home, some in their 90s, had a giggle donning fake moustaches to pose for photos, and enjoyed an afternoon tea.

Movember, the month formerly known as November, is when brave and selfless men around the world grow a moustache and women step up to support them, all to raise awareness and funds for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and male suicide.

Winter gardening brings joy for Exeter care home residents    

Green fingered residents at RMBI Care Co. Home Cadogan Court, in Exeter, have been busy planting an indoor plant display this week.

Throughout the pandemic, kind-hearted staff at the Home have been going all out to boost morale for their residents, with lots of activities designed to keep residents mentally and physically active.

A gardening club was launched in the summer which residents have enjoyed enormously. This week they planted a display of colourful potted plants for the balcony of the Home’s dining room to bring cheer to everyone during the Winter months....

Despite being one of the people being categorised as vulnerable Ian Kingsbury JP. the leader of the Devonshire Freemasons felt it was his duty as a freemason and a caring member of society to engage with those who are even more in need than himself. Ian organised to meet (at a safe distance) Claire Walker the business manager of Cadogan Court, the Masonic Care Home in Exeter where he presented her with five Sagem Electronic Tablets for use by the elderly residents to help them maintain contact with their friends and families during their self-imposed lockdown due to the risks of infection...

Residents at RMBI Care Co. Home Cadogan Court, in Exeter, received a wonderful morale boost this week, thanks to some kind-hearted pupils fromClyst Heath Primary School.

Like most other care homes, Cadogan Court is closed to all but essentialvisitors because of the threat of Coronavirus to its residents.

The daughter of one of the Home’s staff had the idea of making colourful cards and writing letters to send to the residents with uplifting messages. She asked her friends to get involved and they were only too happy to oblige.

Staff at RMBI Care Co. Home Cadogan Court in Exeter celebrated Elf Day last week to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s Society.

Everyone dressed up in elf costumes for a day of festive fun at the Home and staff organised a special Christmas reminiscence coffee morning. Residents enjoyed looking at old memorabilia and shared their own Christmas time memories. The team also sold cakes to raise money.

National survey reveals top marks for Exeter care home

RMBI Home Cadogan Court in Exeter has received top marks in a nationwide survey of care home residents. The results showed that 100% of residents polled said that they were satisfied with the overall standard of care in their Home and that they were overall happy living there.

Amongst the findings, 100% of residents said that staff treat them with kindness, dignity and respect and that the Home is a safe and secure place to live. 100% of residents polled said that they can have visitors when they want and that the Home is clean and tidy.
