Cartoonist Tony Husband has created a 9ft mural for residents at RMBI Home Cadogan Court in Exeter. Well known for his cartoons in newspapers and magazines including Private Eye, Punch and The Times, Tony visited the Home on Thursday 10 May with dementia activist Gina Awad who supported the event. He spent the day drawing different focal points with the help of residents, which he later created into a large mural in the Home’s reception. Staff at RMBI Home Cadogan Court in Exeter, have teamed up with The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, to bring some interesting animals to meet with residents. The donkey handling team brought Willow, the miniature donkey, with them to the care home on Barley Lane on Friday 23 May. Willow has a calm nature and has been trained to go down corridors. He visited residents in different parts of the Home with his handlers, and enjoyed eating ginger biscuits and carrots. Mr and Mrs Walter and Elsie Nicholls, residents at RMBI care home Cadogan Court in Exeter, celebrated 70 years of marriage on 4 January 2017. Residents and staff gathered in the Home's dining room to celebrate the occasion with musical entertainment by a band with banjos and a special lunch. Helena enjoyed a lovely morning sharing her birthday cake with residents, family and friends at the Home and playing her favourite game, Bingo, at which she also won a prize.
Helena has been a resident at Cadogan Court for three years. She was born in 1912 near Bow Bells in East London and worked as an upholsterer at Queen Anne’s Mansions, near Buckingham Palace.

Volunteers from the Research and Knowledge Transfer department at the University of Exeter will be helping host a 1950s Fun Day at Cadogan Court Care Home, Barley lane, Exeter for the residents and their friends and families.
All are welcome at the event which will take place on Tuesday 3 September between 11am and 3pm.
Staff will be dressed in 1950s fancy dress to make the most of the day’s activities and there will be prizes for the best costume.
Activities will include Lucky Dip, Hoopla, Bric a Brac, Roll a Penny, tea, coffee and cake stall, and a prize draw.
