InExeter proud to host training courses for business members

Since January this year, InExeter has hosted 10 training courses for city centre businesses, with over 32 different businesses involved courses including Emergency First Aid, Food Catering, Customer Service and Social Media Training have been held to help support InExeter businesses.

Applications invited for Business Promotion Grant

Applications are being sought for the latest round of Devon County Council’s Business Promotion Grant.

Grants of up to £1,500 are available to help firms who are looking to reach new customers. The funding, which is offered through a competitive bidding process, is aimed at helping businesses to cover exhibiting costs to promote their products and services to audiences at high profile UK trade shows and events.

West Country financial planners and accountants Old Mill have met Standards International’s stringent financial planning standards for the fourth year running.

Old Mill has successfully completed the certification programme for BS 8577 – the only best practice standard for financial advice and planning firms.

The firm, which has offices in Yeovil, Wells, Exeter and Melksham, first achieved the standard in 2015, and at the time was one of a handful of firms in the UK to have gained the accreditation.

Going nowhere fast!

It’s the perfect combination – biking and breakfast all under one roof. Exeter Business Club decided to add pedaling to the menu during their weekly breakfast meeting.

Three static bikes took centre stage where members cycled away in shifts, in between enjoying a full English breakfast, and clocking up the equivalent of a 40 mile trip in 90 minutes.

This wasn’t just to counteract the effect of a good fry up – but to help raise money and awareness of Exeter based charity CEDA who provide learning and social opportunities for adult and children with disabilities.

Devon County Council is announcing the next phase of expansion to a network of business work spaces, which is helping to boost the county’s productivity.

Around 20 per cent of Devon workers are working from home, some of them small businesses that started from spare rooms and kitchen tables, and many are looking to move into larger office accommodation.

Work hubs are the answer, providing flexible term office space, equipped with facilities that modern businesses need. And Devon County Council wants there to be more of them.
