Oxygen House announces further investment in learning technology company Sparx, totalling £50 million

Sparx, a socially focused learning technology company based in Exeter, is to receive a £20 million investment from Oxygen House, an ethical and impact-centric group of companies also based in Exeter. The investment follows an initial £30 million investment from Oxygen House which helped to establish Sparx and to develop and trial the technology.

Together, the £50 million investment is thought to be the largest by a UK investor into the UK edtech sector*.

Exeter College and Kier recently teamed up to deliver an intensive one week, pre-Apprenticeship work experience programme, designed to give local youngsters an insight into the construction industry and inspire them to pursue a career in the varied and vibrant sector.

To further the growth of Exeter and its business community, Air Marketing Group in partnership with Exeter City Council, Exeter Live Better and Exeter Chamber have teamed up to launch a new business initiative to reduce the amount of B2B trade that leaves the city. Dawlish drop-in event planned to inform residents on the schedule of work for the new sea wall

Network Rail is inviting residents to a drop-in session in Dawlish to inform the local community about planned work relating to construction of the new sea wall to the west of the railway station, which is due to start at the end of May.

The community drop-in event follows on from Teignbridge District Council’s approval of the works to improve the resilience of the stretch of railway that connects the South West with the rest of the country at their recent planning committee meeting.

Rockwood Composites, based in Newton Abbot, and HAECO Cabin Solutions have today (3 April 2019) announced a partnership that will revolutionise aircraft seating for the business market. HAECO has commissioned Rockwood to do the tooling on its new “Eclipse” cabin platform for seat shells and console work.
