An Exeter-based company with over 25 years in oilfield innovation has been honoured with the highest accolade a business can receive – The Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade.

Exeter Cathedral School is once again celebrating the success of its Year 8 pupils, all of whom have been awarded places to leading senior schools, with 84% of pupils achieving at least one award.

Rising Stars of Civil Engineering named by CECA South West

Three rising stars in civil engineering have received prestigious Young Achiever awards from the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) South West.

Peter Boden, who lives in Exeter , was named the south west’s most promising trainee civil engineer; Aiden Shipp, from Paignton , the most promising trainee quantity surveyor; and Sam Beer, from Exeter , the most promising apprentice. The Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) annual Beer Awards has named Salcombe Brewery’s Speyside Island Street Porter as the best beer of its kind in Britain. SIBA’s annual competition, held digitally for the first time, attracted entries of just under 500 beers from more than 180 different breweries, into 15 beer categories.

East Devon beaches claim Blue Flags and Seaside Awards for 2020

Blue Flags will be flying high above the beaches of Sidmouth and Exmouth from this week and these beaches, along with Seaton and Budleigh have also won prestigious Seaside Awards too ranking them among England’s best in the country.

Awards for Exeter climate scientists

Two Exeter climate scientists have received prestigious awards from the Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS).

Professor Adam Scaife and Professor Richard Betts MBE, both of the University of Exeter and the Met Office, have won the Buchan Prize and the Climate Science Communications Award respectively.
