For the second year running RGB Building Supplies, which has a branch on Alphinbrook Road, Exeter, has been nominated in the prestigious Builders Merchants Journal Industry Awards.

The awards celebrate all aspects of the construction industry and RGB is now encouraging customers and those working in the trades to vote for them.

The builders merchant has been shortlisted in the Multiple Merchant of the Year category, an award it won in 2018, and is once again up against other leading building supplies companies from across the country.

Water retailer Pennon Water Services has been named as a national finalist in the Chamber Business Awards.

The firm, which trades regionally as South West Water Business, has already won the southern regional Workplace Wellbeing Award and now goes forward to compete against five other organisations from across the UK in the national final.

Families for Children are delighted to announce that we have been awarded of one of the prestigious Charity Governance Awards for 2018.

Families for Children were chosen from over 20 charities from across the UK each nominated to receive one of seven awards and a £5,000 unrestricted grant. All the shortlisted charities represented a diverse range of activities that include mental health care, family support, overseas aid, community sports programmes and post-natal care.

RGB Building Supplies is delighted to announce it has won the Multiple Merchant of the Year (10-100 branches) category at the Builders Merchants Journal Industry Awards 2018 and is thanking those in the Exeter community who voted for them.

Hosted by TV personality Claudia Winkleman, the awards ceremony took place on Friday 18th May at The Brewery, London and celebrated all aspects of the construction industry. RGB was up against other independent building supplies companies from across the country.

Exeter firm Old Mill commended for investment in technology and “empathy and warmth for clients”

West Country financial planners and accountants Old Mill have met Standards International’s stringent financial planning standards for the fourth year running.

Old Mill has successfully completed the certification programme for BS 8577 – the only best practice standard for financial advice and planning firms.

The firm, which has offices in Yeovil, Wells, Exeter and Melksham, first achieved the standard in 2015, and at the time was one of a handful of firms in the UK to have gained the accreditation.

Exeter College’s @thirty-four fine dining teaching and learning restaurant has achieved a prestigious AA College Rosette Award.

The awarding of the coveted accolade is in recognition of the hard work of students and staff at the restaurant. The AA inspector who visited the restaurant highlighted a number of ‘wow’ moments during their visit. Exeter Chiefs forward Sam Simmonds has been named the ‘Land Rover Discovery of The Season’ for the 2017/18 season, at this year’s Aviva Premiership Rugby awards.

The Land Rover Discovery of the Season award recognises the most impressive young player in Aviva Premiership Rugby each season and rewards them for their outstanding contribution to the competition.

Nominees for the award had to be 23 years old or younger on 1st September 2017, and have played at least eight Aviva Premiership Rugby matches this season and not received full international caps prior to 2017....

Devon home care company receives highest national accolade

A Devon home care service has been rated outstanding for the quality of care and support it provides to vulnerable people.

Bay Care has received the highest accolade from the Care Quality Commission after an inspection carried out in March.
