Both DCET Training and Supertech Training are celebrating National Apprenticeship Week by holding both a Plumbing and Electrical open day at two of our centres located in Exeter and Newton Abbot!

The Ofsted Grade 1 National Apprenticeship Providers have organised a number of Apprenticeship open days across the country which are due to take place throughout National Apprenticeship Week.

The events, which have been named as ‘Apprentice Insight Evenings’, will be a celebration of Apprenticeships and the impact they can have in the local area.

On 16th March, the Exeter academy will play host to both employers and young people from the local area who are considering the Apprenticeship route and will offer them an ‘insight’ into the world of Apprenticeships.

Gregory Distribution Limited (GDL) was amongst the winners at Exeter College’s Annual Skills Awards at an event staged by and hosted by apprentices at the college where outstanding apprentices and employers were recognised for their achievement.

New website to help local employers fill their apprenticeship vacancies

Skills Group has worked with local company, Altitude, to launch a new website promoting apprenticeship vacancies to young people.

Apprenticeship record for Exeter College

Exeter College had cause for celebration when figures for 2014/2015 were released, showing a record number of 707 Apprentices starting with the college.

Apprentices earn on average £200 per week and Exeter College currently have 1,500 Apprentices placed, meaning that local employers contribute over £13 million in wages to apprentices alone (excluding training costs).

Leading local advice charity, Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), has announced the extension of its successful apprenticeship scheme.

The charity, based in Dix’s Field, launched its first apprenticeship scheme in April 2014 when for the first time it recruited two Business Administration and Customer Service apprentices through Exeter College.
