South West Apprenticeships Ambassador Network and Exeter College are hosting the Apprenticeship Expo 2017 for the third year running, as part of National Apprenticeship Week.

The Apprenticeship Expo is the only event of its kind in the South West dedicating itself to only showcasing employers that support Apprentices.

The work of Apprentices employed at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is being celebrated during National Apprenticeship Week 2017 (6th – 10th March).

Apprenticeships play a vital role in helping young people to get a foot on the career ladder and enable employers to develop a skilled workforce for the future. Chilcotts Auctioneers has swelled its ranks with the addition of a new apprentice saleroom assistant.

Bea Bandyszewska, from Luppit, has joined the Silver Street auction room on an apprenticeship scheme through Exeter College. Previously, she attended Honiton Community College, studying A Levels in Health & Social Care, Business Studies and IT.

Exeter College has been named as the number one further education college in the South West for its Apprenticeship programme for 2016.

The Skills Funding Agency also placed the college within the top ten of Further Education College’s in the UK, with record breaking success rates of 86% propelling them to the top of the regional table. It comes as the college recently welcomed the next generation of Apprentices who have started on the college’s award-winning Apprenticeship programme.

DCET apprentices celebrate success!

A record number of Electrical Apprentices have completed their Electrical Apprenticeship with DCET training, part of The Focus Training Group.

To mark their achievement, a number of the new electricians attended a presentation ceremony at the Devon Hotel where they were joined by their family and friends.

A digital marketing agency has created a full time position for its first apprentice following the successful completion of her course.

Independent electrical retailer Devondale is celebrating after two of its team won recognition in a national industry award.

The 2016 Electrical Distributors Association (EDA) Annual Awards were presented over two events. At the first, held at the Intercontinental in London’s Park Lane, branch manager Julian Williams received an Investors in Training Award that recognised the high level support he gives to others.
