Call to share stories and memories of Knightshayes to help celebrate 150 years

The National Trust’s Knightshayes in Tiverton is asking for visitors, members and volunteers to share their memories and stories of the property to help celebrate the 150 year anniversary of laying of the foundation stone of the house in 1869. The property will be hosting a series of celebration events in 2019 but need the community to help kick things off this September with a special project, ‘Mapping Knightshayes Connections’.

Exminster Hair and Beauty is celebrating its first big birthday after 10 years in the heart of the village.

The professional salon began its life in a converted garage, before moving to the centre of Exminster in early 2008.

Now its dedicated team offer a wealth of experience and talent in providing top quality hair and beauty services to all customers.

Exeter Northcott Theatre celebrates its 50th anniversary today

Exeter Northcott Theatre is today (NOV 2nd) celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The theatre opened on the 2nd November 1967 with a production of The Merchant of Venice, starring its first Artistic Director, Tony Church.

Reflecting on a year since the fire which tragically destroyed The Royal Clarence Hotel, John Badley, Regional General Manager and in charge of the hotel on the night, has been reflecting on his memories of the events of 28 October 2016.

David Suchet joins Exeter Northcott Anniversary Gala line-up

Exeter Northcott Theatre is delighted to announce that celebrated actor David Suchet will perform in its 50th anniversary gala in November.

David is an Olivier and Emmy Award winner, best known for playing Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot having starred in all 74 television movies over 25 years. Suchet has also starred in numerous films and television series internationally whilst also maintaining an impressive theatre career.

In 1970, Suchet played the role of Petruchio in the Exeter Northcott’s production of The Taming of the Shrew.

People can gain a fascinating insight into the Exeter Blitz and how locals took refuge from the falling bombs in Exeter’s Underground Passages at a series of events next week. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Exeter Blitz of 1942. Although the first bombs fell on Exeter on 25 April 1942, it was not until a few days later on 4 May that the city was devastated by what has become known as the Exeter Blitz. To commemorate these events, Exeter’s Underground Passages & the Red Coat Guided Tours have planned a number of events running from Monday (1 May) until Sunday (7 May)....

ECDSA to hold 10th anniversary charity event

On Tuesday, April 18, the Exeter City Disabled Supporters Association are hosting their tenth anniversary event at St James Park, with all money raised going to the Reverse Rett charity.

The event, which kicks-off at 7pm and is free to attend, has been kindly sponsored by Bower and Bower estate agents, who are donating directly to Reverse Rett and providing support on the night. Exeter Nissan and Green My Business have also donated towards a small buffet.
